The Isle of Arran Ferry Committee is officially backing Ardrossan to be retained as the primary port for the Arran service.
Chairman Iain Thomson has written to Scotland’s transport minister, Humza Yousaf, arguing that Ardrossan harbour provides the best option for ‘travellers’ convenience, cost-effectiveness and future development of the island’.
The move came just days before the transport minister visits the island today (Friday) to discuss the future route with the island’s business, tourism and community bodies.
