Sir
I was neither surprised nor shocked to read in last week’s Banner that in simulated trials the Glen Sannox will be more likely to be cancelled due to bad weather than the Caledonian Isles is at present unless the entrance to Ardrossan harbour is changed.
During the long discussions last year I wrote several times to my MSP urging him to be extremely firm with Peel Ports in order to get a guarantee that they would improve the Ardrossan harbour approach to a state that it could take large ferries in bad weather. He told me not to worry. The new vessel would have so much power and thrust that it could overcome all the problems.
