Hard work and persistence has paid off for Arran’s junior triathletes who have ensured that the Arran Junior Triathlon Club is recognised on a national level with several podium places achieved during the last few months at national competitions.
On Saturday September 8, at the Balfron Aquathlon, Ruaridh Lindsay-Smith finished in third place, only beaten by two Scottish IRC Junior Squad members. In the West Lothian Triathlon, Rhea Webster finished in fourth place and Julie Hamill secured third place in the Tristars 3 race.
At the Prestwick Aquathlon which took place on Saturday September 15, 18 Arran Junior Triathlon Club members participated across four age groups. Ruaridh Lindsay-Smith finished in third place in the Tristars 2 race, Connah Wright placed second in the Tristars 3 race and James McCarthy was first in the Tristars 3 race.
