No right to view

Nobody has a right to a view, according to planners in response to an objection to a new dwelling in Strathwhillan.

Nevertheless, the planners will recommend refusal of the application when it comes up at the North Ayrshire Council development control sub-committee on Tuesday. The applicant, who wishes to sub-divide his plot and build another house on it, has had 10 objections and two letters of support for the proposal. And although nobody has a right to a view, planners say that if there is a house in your line of vision, it should be ‘reasonably agreeable’ to look at. Even as one objector, and the planners agree, if viewed from as far away as the ferry.
