The Arran Women in Black held a vigil near the Brodick ferry terminal last Saturday when they joined a world-wide network of women who are committed to peace and actively oppose war and violence.
They meet in silence to mourn victims of war, soldiers and civilians, near and far and are not affiliated to any political party.
Arran vigils are held on the last Saturday of the month when they meet on the grass opposite the Douglas hotel from 1pm to 2pm and the group invites anyone to attend. While being a women-only vigil they appreciate the invaluable support of men.
