The Corrie Film Club offering this month is a true story brought to life by director Simon Curtis and actor Helen Mirren. Woman in Gold reveals one woman’s journey to reclaim her heritage and seek justice for what happened to her family.
Sixty years after she fled Vienna during the Second World War, an elderly Jewish woman, Maria Altmann (Helen Mirren), starts her journey to retrieve family possessions seized by the Nazis, including a famous portrait by Gustav Klimt, which forces her to confront difficult truths along the way. Watch the film in Corrie and Sannox Village Hall on Sunday January 8 at 8pm.
