The mountains of Arran will play host to three running events over two days this weekend as part of the final instalment in the Alpin Ultras series of events.
Known as the Ultra Trail Scotland, organised by Find Your Adrenaline, the high altitude races will comprise a vertical dash to the top of Goatfell, a 25km Tarsuinn Trail and a gruelling 71km route from Brodick to Lochranza and back.
Given the gruelling nature and terrain of the Ultra race, only experienced athletes are considered and the race numbers are limited to 100 people. The 25km race and vertical dash are open to 150 competitors in each race with many of the entries choosing to take part in both events. All three events will start at the main hub at the Ormidale Pavilion.
