THE DISCUS competition for the remaining Diamond League fixtures of 2016 will have collapsible cages, allowing for smoother running of the competition and a move closer to the international broadcast slots.
So far this season, the men’s discus events have started more than one hour before TV coverage has begun.
According to Patrick K Magyar, the Diamond League vicechairman and founder, plans to move the discus competition closer to the broadcast slot, allowing the event more international exposure, had been disrupted after a problem at the company producing the cages, which has now been rectified.
