NIGHTMARE travel troubles almost put paid to David Omoregie’s competition, but the Cardiff-based athlete made it on time to finish things off for the year with a win on the Tyneside streets.

The Brit hit an early hurdle after the American, Jarret Eaton, and former European indoor champion Petr Svoboda rose well but he came back strongly in the latter stages to win in 13.75, overtaking Eaton, who clattered the penultimate barrier having tangled arms with Omoregie.
