NIGHTMARE travel troubles almost put paid to David Omoregie’s competition, but the Cardiff-based athlete made it on time to finish things off for the year with a win on the Tyneside streets.

David Omoregie: winner overcame travel delay
The Brit hit an early hurdle after the American, Jarret Eaton, and former European indoor champion Petr Svoboda rose well but he came back strongly in the latter stages to win in 13.75, overtaking Eaton, who clattered the penultimate barrier having tangled arms with Omoregie.
David King ran a clean race and finished in 13.94 behind the 27-year- old American, who ran 13.94. Svoboda finished last in 14.41.
Omoregie was disheartened to not find the form to make the Rio Olympic team, but has bounced back well with two personal bests since then, with a best of 13.24.
