M 5000m
NINETY MINUTES after his 5000m race, Mo Farah cut a lonely figure as he jogged around the in-field of the warmup track in the shadow of the main stadium. As the sun set over the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, a group of workmen shouted ‘Mobot! Mobot!” and threw their hands over their heads to copy the athlete’s trademark pose in the hope he would return the gesture. Yet they were not in luck as Farah’s sunglasses and large earphones proved effective at blocking out any distractions and he continued his post-race circuits on the grass.
The next morning he rose to complete a 20-mile run before some media duties for the British Olympic Association.
