HANNAH COCKROFT says she is proud of the courage the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) showed after it announced it was working on banning Russia from Rio.
Thirty-five positive Russian Paralympic samples were identified in the WADA McLaren Report as having disappeared in the country’s state-sponsored doping cover-up.
She said: “I’m really proud of the IPC. It is a tough decision. I wouldn’t want to make that decision. That’s breaking dreams and breaking hearts but it needed doing and the IPC have done a fantastic job at stepping forward, making a decision and putting their foot down.”
