WELCOME TO THE attitude PRIDE AWARDS

DELTA

OFFICIAL AIRLINE OF THE EVENT

Pride has its roots in late 1960s America and over the past 40 years has grown to become a global movement celebrating the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community. This has always been a proud community but never has individuality been as celebrated as it is today.

Pride events, such as London’s on June 27, have become one of the most important symbols of this movement and this year is set to be the biggest parade yet. Pride is about coming together, embracing who we are, celebrating diversity and having fun.

Publications such as Attitude Magazine are key in raising awareness and giving a voice to this community and the work they do should be commended. The Attitude Pride Awards is yet another step in the journey. The awards are not about celebrities but people like you and I who have made a difference in our community either by overcoming adversity or improving the lives of others. I have certainly been humbled by the stories and achievements of these very deserving recipients and I hope that you will also be inspired.

About Attitude

This very special edition of Attitude is our biggest ever. It marks our first annual Pride Awards, which were created to champion the unsung heroes of the LGBT community; all of our 11 recipients grace the cover, and their extraordinary stories are told inside. They will all be honoured at an event in London, hosted by Alan Cumming, on 26 June. This issue also marks Attitude’s 21st birthday, and inside we feature 21 ordinary 21 year olds from the LGBT community who speak about what matters to them as they come of age in Britain in 2015. The issue also includes interviews with Roisin Murphy, Little Mix, Mary Lambert, Aston Merrygold, Kavana, Collabro, actor Layton Williams, and director Bill Condon; as well as features on the rebranding of Switchboard, and a look back at Queen’s iconic Live Aid performance 30 years on. All this, plus our regular fashion spreads, columnists, real life features, travel and fitness.
