Two years ago, Ben Hardy’s character in EastEnders, Peter Beale, was embroiled in the middle of the “who killed Lucy” storyline. It did a good job of gripping the nation for months, culminating with a shocking revelation during the show’s live 30th anniversary episodes. To say his career has taken off since then, is to put it mildly. His CV makes acting look like a proverbial walk in the park.

Dorset-born Ben, 25, first came to our attention in 2012 in David Hare’s play Judas Kiss, playing “sexually available” bisexual hotel porter Arthur Wellesley opposite Rupert Everett (as Oscar Wilde) and Freddie Fox (as Lord Alfred Douglas, affectionately know as Bosie). The play opened with Hardy’s character making love to a maid, before he later offering himself to the butler, Wilde and Bosie. He also bared all, going nude for a brief moment.
