Nyle DiMARCO

NYLE DIMARCO, THE SEXUALLY FLUID WINNER OF AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL AND DANCING WITH THE STARS, SPEAKS EXCLUSIVELY TO ATTITUDE ABOUT THAT HEADLINE-GRABBING SAME-SEX DANCE ROUTINE ON ONE OF AMERICA’S BIGGEST TV SHOWS, HOW THE DEAF COMMUNITY IS SO MUCH MORE ACCEPTING, AND — BEING THE FOURTH GENERATION IN A DEAF FAMILY — HIS MISSION TO BRING ABOUT LEGISLATIVE CHANGE TO HELP ALL DEAF CHILDREN

Nyle DiMarco is more than just a pretty face. He’s smart, charming, witty and on a mission to change the public’s perception of deaf people from being technically classed as disabled into a community capable of doing everything that hearing people can do. DiMarco has made impressive strides towards that goal in little more than a year.

Winning A merica’s Next Top Model? Tick. Sure, given his incredible looks, it’s not that much of a stretch, you might think. But, as Attitude knows, when someone’s on a chaotic photoshoot with teams of people swarming around them, each with their own instructions, ideas and concepts, being able to channel that into a final striking shot that blows the camera lens out takes a lot of savvy.

Putting that through the demanding medium of a reality TV show with its own agenda is no mean feat. After surviving that experience and coming out on top, it’s no wonder that when we meet to shoot Nyle, 27, it turns out to be one of the most effortless projects we’ve worked on.

Not long after DiMarco’s ANTM win, he caught our attention again when he stated he was sexually “fluid.” In a Twitter post in response to a question about whether he prefers “boys or girls,” he referred people to an everydayfeminism.com article entitled How Fluid Sexuality Fits into the LGBTQIA+ Spectrum. Men and women around the world were sent into a giddy daze by this American god with a thoroughly modern mind.
