South west of Barcelona, the pretty coastal town of Sitges offers plenty to a broad mix of visitors, but when it comes to LGBT+ travellers, it excels. A resort town since the 19th century, and a gay hotspot since the 1990s, it manages to avoid the cheap mass tourism that much of coastal Spain is known for. Instead, it retains a quaint, upscale charm with hip beach clubs, high-end boutiques and great restaurants. And gay visitors are spoilt for choice with a healthy spread of LGBT+ establishments for all tastes and times.
