We begin burning through plastic from an incredibly young age – in fact, it starts when we’re only a matter of hours old. From the bottles we feed from, to the nappies we go to the toilet in, plastic is there for us from day one – so is it really any wonder that we’ve become so dependent on it? Welcoming a new life into the world is a fun and exciting time, but if you don’t want your baby’s waste to add to the ever-growing mound of plastic that pollutes our planet, you may want to look for alternatives.

About Be Kind
Hello,
A warm welcome to our very first issue.
I wonder what led you to pick up our magazine from the stand? Perhaps the striking image caught your eye? Or, maybe the title, Be Kind, struck a chord? Either way, we hope you’re here because you, too, want to make the world a better place.
It’s a scary and uncertain time, as we watch our seas fill with plastic, our bins bulge and our air become dense with fumes and pollution. Each month, these pages will be packed with positive, proactive solutions to help you make small, achievable changes that will have a much bigger global impact.
This month we’re focusing in on the huge problem of plastic. As one of the biggest, most talked about environmental issues of the last year, plastic has affected every corner of the earth and all aspects of the environment. From ditching straws and water bottles, to who to follow on Instagram for zero-waste inspiration, we’ve rounded up some motivating ideas to help you reduce your own footprint. We all need to learn to tread a little more lightly, and it’s these small steps that will spark and inspire greater progress.
Showing a little kindness is what the world needs right now.
Enjoy the issue,
Phillipa
