What’s in a nickname? In Juan Soto’s case, everything. Soto is also known as Childish Bambino, a clever combination of Donald Glover’s rap name “Childish Gambino” and Babe Ruth’s “The Great Bambino” moniker.

Like Glover, Soto brings a unique energy and style to his profession. And like Ruth, Soto thinks –no, he knows - he is the best and most exciting player on the field.

It’s hard to argue, too. Soto kicked offthe Washington National’s title chase with a game-tying single in the eighth inning of the N.L. Wild Card game. The go-ahead run scored, also, because of an error on the play. It was his seventh-inning walk that set-up Howie Kendrick’s goahead home run in Game 7 of the World Series.
