Elliot Foster sees Ramabeletsa win new belt but Eko goes to hospital

MICHAEL RAMABELETSA stepped up in weight to add another title to his collection. The reigning English super-bantamweight champion was in action at the Victoria Warehouse in Trafford Park.

Ramabeletsa went into the fight, as part of the annual “Jolly Boys” card promoted by Steve Wood for VIP Boxing Promotions, against Joe Eko – for the vacant Central Area title up at super-featherweight – with a 50/50 record. But the man who is based in Preston, after coming from his homeland of South Africa, produced a great display against Oldham’s Eko, who was hospitalised following the decision. Ramabeletsa had the better of the opening exchanges.
