HE has been wrestling with the idea ever since his night of a lifetime at Madison Square Garden, New York, but now Tommy Coyle, 25-5 (12), has made his retirement from boxing official.
The likeable and entertaining 30-yearold, known throughout his career as “Boom Boom” announced he was walking away from the game on Tuesday (January 28) and said he will look back on his achievements with “great pride and joy”.
“I am sad that it is over, of course I am, but it had to be one day and today is the day,” he told Hull Live. “What a journey it’s been. Did I ever think I would get as far as I have got? Absolutely not. But I want to walk away from the game with all my faculties intact.
