TIMES tumbled as young athletes battled heat and wind watched by a capacity crowd at the Junior MOK Run.
Alyssa McEachran: 2:04:62, 500m, in the girls’ five- to six-yearolds recorded the best time in her age group, including the boys. In that race Charley Gilchrist set a new mark of 2:09:00. Second placed five to six-year-old girl, Eleyna McEachran: 2:07:54, would have also seen her home clear of the boys.
In the girls’ 12- to 14-year-olds, 2,000 metres, Giffnock athlete Ella McGregor lowered her own time of 7:44 to 7:36:25. MOK Coo, designed by Castlehill primary pupil Eoin Quinn, made a popular re-appearance, assisting in Mairi McKillop’s warm-up and stampeding round the track encouraging runners.
