Waverley set for three sailings from Campbeltown

THE WORLD’s last sea going paddle steamer will sail from Campbeltown this summer for just three dates. The Waverley, celebrating 70 years since its first launch in 1946, will cruise into Campbeltown Loch on Tuesday May 31, before steaming on for a day tour of the Mull of Kintyre and the Sound of Islay.

It will then return on July 3 for a day trip to Ireland, before a final visit for an afternoon cruise of the Sanda Isles on August 14.

Ross Cochrane, Waverley’s captain, said: ‘Some of the best scenery in the world is in the West Coast of Scotland.’
