A83 is ‘genuinely dangerous’

Sir, I have been driving up and down between Glasgow and Southend on a fairly regular basis for more than 50 years, and, without doubt, I have never seen the A83 in worse condition.

It is in a shocking state some 15 miles short of Inveraray all the way down to Southend. Not only is it shocking, it is genuinely dangerous, with frequent large potholes and many extremely rough patches.

It is difficult enough during the day. At night it is lethal because you cannot properly see those rough patches until you are virtually upon them.
