DESPITE being the second largest council area in Scotland, Argyll and Bute will receive just £23,895 of £50m Scottish Government funding to close a schools’ attainment gap.
Asked why Argyll and Bute received the lowest amount among all the schools allocated to receive funding, nearly six times less than the next lowest recipient, a Scottish Government spokesperson said: ‘Different areas have different gaps that they have to close.’
