A CAMPBELTOWN sheriff told a man whom she was sentencing for breach of the peace that it was ridiculous someone of his abilities depended on state benefits.
George Millar Jackson, 54, of 31B Glebe Street, Campbeltown, had pleaded guilty at a hearing last month to two charges – one of struggling violently with police officers and a further charge of threatening and abusive behaviour on June 17 this year.
Sheriff Ruth Anderson QC said: ‘This was a particularly nasty and offensive breach of the peace showing arrogance towards the police.
