Smoke alarms save lives

A FUNCTIONING smoke alarm could have saved lives last weekend, as it alerted a neighbour to a potential disaster in a Campbeltown home.

Thankfully, the cause of the smoke was nothing more than a pot left smouldering on a stove, but Campbeltown’s retained firefighters were on the scene in case the event got out of hand.
