A life buoy for CalMac management

I suppose it is part of your editorial duties to provoke comment through your selection of letters. Interest and controversy sell newspapers, it was always so.

I am disappointed in your decision to publish Mr Beaver’s letter about Cal-Mac, as it does not inform the public in any meaningful way, and insults a body of men who cannot themselves respond through your letter’s page.

Knowing this, I would have hoped that you might have perhaps deemed it wiser to await a more reasoned argument from one of your readers, or, better still, have deployed one of your reporting staff on a quest to ascertain and then publish on the root causes of the recent CalMac disruptions, not only to the Ardrossan service, but also recently on the Islay service.
