From A to B sustainably

The way we move around our cities has an impact on many aspects of urban life: social inclusion, air quality, environmental sustainability and economic growth. Creating efficient and convenient transport solutions is a challenge for cities, but done well it can contribute to broader objectives, such as the EU goals for addressing climate change and reducing greenhouse gases.


The European Commission’s 2011 White Paper on Transport included the first formal recognition of urban mobility as part of the EU’s long-term transport strategy. The mainstreaming of urban mobility has helped European cities overcome many transport challenges, so we have been pushing to maintain this in future strategies, such as the revised White Paper due out before the summer.
