Global cities meet in Barcelona to discuss mobility solutions

Twelve major European cities, along with New York, Santiago and Fukuoka, met in Barcelona from 14–15 November 2016, for the fourth of a series of international meetings, organised by Cities Today.

The 2020 meeting brought together city representatives, including deputy mayors and transport ministers, for a roundtable discussion at Barcelona’s City Hall, where they were joined by companies including Doppelmayr, HERE, Mastercard, TNO and NXP, to examine urban mobility issues and solutions.

“Millions of motorised-vehicle journeys take place every day in Barcelona and its metropolitan area, which increase air pollution through exhaust fumes,” said Janet Sanz, Barcelona Deputy Mayor of Ecology, Urban Planning and Mobility.
