Hoist the sails! Yacht rock ahoy! Mamas Gun singer Andy Platts (the ‘Young Gun’) and journeyman Shawn Lee (the ‘Silver Fox’) return with a third album of tasteful blue-eyed soul. Hall & Oates are, inevitably, a touchstone, whether on opener Kids, its chorus lifted by Platts’ sweet falsetto, or Baby Girl, whose woozy keys are underpinned by muffled drums. Things We Left Unsaid, though, sounds like a soulful Steely Dan, while Jamiroquai would kill for Dream Woman’s sparkly brass.
