The right track

REAL TOOL

Always reference measurements to a ridge on the track and not the strip edge, which tends to get damaged.

Ripping a full sheet of plywood on a table saw can be a challenge, especially as you get older or when you have to work alone. Like me, you may have used a run-beside guide and circ saw combo to reduce a 4x8 sheet to more manageable dimensions. However, I’ve got a better solution. A few years back I acquired a track saw kit, and now handling big stuff is a heck of a lot easier. The saw is designed to travel on the track, not beside it, so there’s zero chance of the blade wandering. It’s so accurate, I often use it instead of my table saw for ripping the long panels for cabinets.
