THAT’S WILD!

There are cake smashes, and then there’s…whatever the heck is going on here—an entry to our annual photo contest. Laurie Ann Quigley, who usually photographs wildlife, took this shot of fellow cottager and new one-year-old Emilio, as part of a birthday cake smash photo shoot on Lac Bibbit, Que. “After spending several days in a kayak photographing loons, I was more than willing to change it up some,” says Laurie Ann. The result was messy, hilarious, and delicious. “The only real challenge we had was keeping Emilio from eating any of the dirt that might get into the cake.”
