It’s time for the Tour de Yorkshire again, and time for the British contingent to take on the tactical might of France’s Tommy Voeckler and restore some home pride. Last year we witnessed a tactical masterclass from the canny Frenchman who dictated the outcome of the race by little more than easing off the pedals
and letting a gap go on a steep climb into Scarborough. Doing this forced Adam Yates, a key rival, to chase. Once he’d done that, Voeckler spotted his chance and attacked to set up the win.
