CAVENDISH MAKES HISTORY
Never write off Mark Cavendish. Against the formbook, the odds, and under immense pressure, he won the opening stage of the 2016 Tour de France and with it took the first yellow jersey of his career. In doing so the Manxman
cemented himself as one of cycling’s greats, adding another milestone to
his already glittering palmarès. It means he joins Sir Bradley Wiggins and David Millar as one of three British riders to wear the leader’s jersey in all three Grand Tours.
