I’ve plucked inspiration from the Christmas tree to create this sparkling, bauble-inspired design for your Christmas cake decoration. Although striking to look at, it’s simple to make – and once you’ve mastered the technique of cutting out the shapes in the icing, you can use it for other occasions using different-shaped cookie cutters. I love the eye-catching look of the silver and gold sugar-ball stars against the white icing, but feel free to experiment by changing the cutters or swapping the colours of the balls.
