As we meander into Spring, it’s also time for one of the most important exhibitions in the motoring calendar, the Geneva motor show. We take a look at the big stars of the show, including the facelifted Ford Focus, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and updated Volkswagen Scirocco, amongst a whole host of other new models making their motor show debut.

There’s also a cleaning and valeting theme for this issue, giving you hints and tips on giving your car a brush up to get rid of the winter salt and debris. In the used car section, we focus on the baby of Audi’s range, the A1, giving invaluable hints and tips on buying the very best example you can afford.

We’ve been behind the wheel of hot new metal like the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class and Porsche Macan this month, as well as the Toyota Verso with new 1.6-litre BMW engine and Fiat 500L featuring a more powerful 118bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine. We’ve tested facelifted Vauxhall Meriva, Renault Megane and Skoda Yeti on UK roads, as well as the Ford Tourneo Connect. There’s a petrol versus diesel grudge match to settle, as we pitch Ford’s Focus 1.0 EcoBoost engine up against the 1.6-litre TDCi unit, and we put Citroën’s brand new Grand C4 Picasso up against the facelifted Peugeot 5008. There’s also tests of the Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC and Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet.

Of course there’s also all the favourites, including comprehensive long-term test reports, Doctor Diesel, The Extra Mile, High Mile Club and Gadget Inspector. There’s also the most comprehensive news and marketplace sections in the business, and our DataFiles pages remain the most up-to-date anywhere on the newsstands.

diesel, green cars, electric mag

The UK’s leading magazine for diesel, green cars, electric, hybrids and alternative fuelled vehicles, full of advice on tech, mechanics, future plans. great photos inspiring reviews Reviewed 21 August 2022

I like the way it has evolved over the years

I have been buying it in print and online since the early 2000s and I like that it always has focused on the economy end of motoring, or us cheapskates if you like. It has moved to covering hybrids and electric cars which is good, and hasn't forgotten its roots - diesels.

It's a friendly, down to early mag and Doctor Diesel is still the best bit.
