A WORD FROM OUR PUBLISHERS

WELCOME

A huge welcome to this landmark issue of DIVA – our 250th. We’re so proud to be at the helm of this amazing publication which, for the past 23 years, has been an integral part of the lives of so many lesbians and bisexual women.

Much has changed since DIVA first hit the newsstands back in 1994, not least some huge advances in equality legislation and societal attitudes. Lesbians and bisexual women are more visible than ever before in all walks of public life, and this must be welcomed. But we cannot afford to sit back. Now more than ever, there is so much to be done: there is still a gender pay gap, online homophobic abuse (not to mention horrific ‘real life’ abuse) is rife and, lest we forget, equal marriage has yet to reach Northern Ireland.
