I wanted this column to be about something different than my usual political pieces – not that there’s anything wrong with being political. As I type I’m feeling nervous, quite vulnerable and probably a tad exposed, because I am going to give you an insight into how I feel at certain moments in my life. Although often in the public eye, I am a very private person. Many people look at me and see a big, buxom, confident, positive and strong queer woman of colour who appears to be unmoveable, unshakeable and assertive, taking no crap from anyone.
