WELCOME
Putting together this issue has made me think a lot about spaces; what they look like and what they represent. Whether it is the physical bricks and mortar spaces we create, like reader Kate Bouverie on page 72, or the metaphysical spaces between body and mind, so wonderfully articulated by our columnist Cerian Jenkins (page 24). Whatever that space looks like – a home, a hideout or a heart – they need to be nurtured and taken care of so that they don’t unexpectedly come undone. I’ve also been ruminating a lot on resolutions, as one is wont to do at this time of year. Two thousand and eighteen has been wonderful in so many ways, but I’ve found it bruising, too. I haven’t been very kind to myself, at times, or to the people around me. And like many of you, I’m sure, I find myself limping towards the finish line in need of a little space to gather my thoughts and emotions and make sense of it all.
