This is the second time I’ve met singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan. The irst, around a year ago, was at an event and involved signiicantly more alcohol. Today is a Tuesday and, in contrast, we’re both particularly sober.

Just minutes before we meet on this overcast but warm afternoon in central London, Lucy announces to her 567K Twitter followers that she’s on the lineup for this year’s Glastonbury. “I played [before] in 2017, and it was amazing,” she beams, joining me on the oversized sofa I’ve been waiting for her on. “Ten minutes before I was due to go out onstage, there were like, 10 people waiting. I thought, ‘Oh god…’ and ran backstage to vomit. When I came back out, the tent was completely rammed. It was amazing! Getting to play Glastonbury is pretty massive. I didn’t think it would feel the way that it felt. It was nuts. And this time I’m taking my full band with me, which I love doing.”
