WORKING WITH MY WIFE
When I was 30 years old and a director in mainstream publishing I received a call from Stephanie Dowrick, founder of leading feminist publisher, The Women’s Press. TWP were looking for a publisher – someone to build and develop the editorial list and jointly run the company with their sales director, Mary Hemming. The Press had been through a troubled time – it would be my job, with Mary, to get the organisation back on sound footing.
