THE DOMINATORS

AS THE DOMINATORS’ WAR FLEET HEADS TOWARDS Epsilon Five, a single craft containing Rago and his subordinate Toba, together with a small squad of robotic Quarks, descends on the planet Dulkis.

Their landing site is the heavily irradiated Island of Death, an abandoned military base used for nuclear weapons-testing 172 years before. The island is maintained as a source of scientific and cultural study by the indigenous Dulcians, who in the intervening years have embraced pacifism. The site enables the Dulcians to contemplate the dangers of atomic power and the potential horrors of war. In spite of the island’s radiation level, it’s frequently visited by students and, very occasionally, by wealthy thrill-seekers.
