Will forgery son inherits £1.2m costs

A NORTH London accountant has been left with an estimated £1.2 million in legal bills after forging his late mother’s will.

Girish Dahyabhai Patel, 65, was found guilty of forgery by the High Court in London on February 16 following forensic analysis of the disputed will he presented, which revealed the indentation of her signature elsewhere on the page.

The findings suggested his mother, Prabhavati Dahyabhai Patel, had signed the sheet along with other blank documents, one on top of the other, in order for her signature to be used by the family’s business in her absence.
