THANKS TO THE VISIONARIES & VOLUNTEERS
For the family history researcher today, the internet is the first port of call to track down those all-important ancestor clues, and it is thanks to organisations such as Free UK Genealogy that the web provides such a wealth of evidence about our families in times gone by for us to search today. Scroll back to 1998, and what was the world of the family historian like then? By and large it was the world of CDs and microfiche. The giants of the genealogy scene that we would all recognise in 2018 were still in their early years, or yet to be established.
