Could my ancestor Sarah Holdsworth really have had a child by another man after my 5x great-grandfather Samuel died?

It’s not quite what I had in mind when I started on this branch of my tree, but last issue I came across the intriguing baptism of a Joseph Holdsworth, described as the ‘son of Sally Holdsworth and Anthony Limb’. If this is my 5x great-grandmother’s child, then it would neatly solve the riddle of the mysterious Joseph Holdsworth in Ramsbottom, and explain why he lived and worked there beside Sarah and her sons (his half brothers?) Thomas and William. I map out a tree of the key characters, but when I give my theory some proper thought, it’s clear there are some gaping holes…
