To commemorate its centenary this year, the charity Combat Stress has partnered with reminiscence arts charity Age Exchange to interview 100 UK veterans and their families for a living archive.
Combat Stress www.combatstress.org.uk has been holding filming days at the Museum of Liverpool and St Helen’s RFC Stadium in July for former servicemen and women it has supported to share their story of recovery. The interviews will create Combat Stress 100, a living archive available for viewing by veterans and their families seeking mental health treatment in the future, as well as by medical professionals and students to better understand militaryrelated trauma.
The interviews will also form part of a multimedia exhibition, which will tour the country later this year to raise awareness of veterans’ mental health and the support available. The project was made possible by a £98,300 grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
