See you at the finish line!
That all depends on your point of view, but three races into the MotoGP season and Marc Marquez is sitting on a big points lead after hitting the podium three times, twice as victor. He has been helped somewhat by mistakes across the field, from Lorenzo binning it, Rossi binning it and everyone else throwing their bikes into the luckless Andrea Dovizioso. Poor Dovi, wiped out first by his team-mate, then by an errant Repsol Honda after Dani Pedrosa made a right fudge of things. Surely his year can only get better from here? Marquez, meanwhile, appears to have sorted out his issues with the Honda, electronics and Michelin tyres. We have to wait until we get into the thick of things in Europe to really see where things stand. Still, the signs are not good for the rest, especially considering he’s now matured enough to realise that not winning every weekend is OK so long as he’s picking up useful points. A grown-up yet still stupendously fast Marquez? Start panicking, Rossi and Lorenzo fans…
