Flora Winter 2021
I HAVE ENJOYED putting together the winter issue of Flora and hope you enjoy the mix of articles. Verdi Nature Preserved have generously offered their premium preserved roses to the first
50 subscribers. Surrounded by pressed Stachys lanata
or Galax leaves in a small container even one rose
looks wonderful.
How to make your flowers last longer is an article I took
on with relish and was delighted to receive respected knowledge from across the world with one or two surprises. See if you agree with my findings and, if not, please do let me know.
Harriet Parry’s description of how she interprets artwork into floral compositions is magical, while festive tips give a wealth of knowledge for both beginners and the most accomplished. We feature designs from popular Flora contributors – Lynn Bottamley,
Craig Bullock, Chris Harten, Sarah Hills-Ingyon and Jonathan Moseley – and some exciting new names. Do send any tips you have to me and the best tip will receive a copy of my new book, which will be out in October.
The image above shows a floral carousel created by the flower school for Belgravia in Bloom in conjunction with Neill Strain Floral Couture. The theme was The Fairground. It was hard work and of course I said never again. Now that all is over and ITV Weather
filmed the weather with the carousel as a backdrop I have now started to think that perhaps 2022 offers new opportunities.
