FITNESS

Former Disney Channel presenter and bona fide blonde bombshell Joe Cooper is more than just a pretty face. Dedicated to fitness, he’s got a lot to say about body image, confidence and how our hang-ups affect our mental health. Why else do you think we made him this month’s Gay Times Fitty…

Joe! We can’t help but notice you’re in great shape. When did you start taking fitness seriously? Thanks! Well, when I was 16 I went to Sylvia Young Theatre School and dancing and acting was the main thing. I used to be that one at school who was on the chubby side and it made me upset, so I thought it was time to slim down a bit. When I started seeing progress, I thought I’d carry on, and now I’m in a pretty good stage, I think. People can go on Instagram and see how I used to be! I want to now try and inspire others into what I’ve done; for people to see someone the size I was, but manage to slim down, it proves to everyone you can go out there and do it.
