EXCLUSIVE NEW INTERVIEW

When did you first realise music was to become your life? For me, it all started with Disney movies. Obviously, that would be the first music that I would be interested in, and I would be singing along with the whole bits of the movie. I think I was about seven or eight when I first experienced with all my mind English speaking music. The track I’m sure was Goldfinger by Dame Shirley Bassey. As you can imagine, being born in Austria, you don’t have a clue what the language was supposed to be like, and I really didn’t know who this lady was. But she’s still, to this very day, the name that appears when it comes to music and my way of understanding it. I always think about how it would sound if she sang it, because when I first started, I tried to sing like her and found out that my voice was OK. That’s when I realised I could sing. I think I owe her money for the singing lessons [laughs].

Would you ever consider getting involved with Disney as an artist? Could we hear you voicing a Disney character soon? I see myself as a very theatrical performer, because you know, I love me some drama [laughs]. Then when it comes to Disney, the story is always the same and, of course— it’s a story of finding yourself and believing in yourself. That’s what attracts me. It does still to a lot of young people to this very day, so it’s definitely why I wanted tell a story with the music that I created.
